'On Patrol' is a portrait of Putra Mas the bull elephant at Perth Zoo, Australia. His name meaning Golden Prince. After visiting the zoo one day I spent a long time watching Putra Pas patrol the enclosure. He had a paintbrush in his trunk as he had been playfully brushing colours across a canvas for his keepers moments earlier.
 
Frequently hunted for their tusks, the ivory trade is still in action now, and is severely effecting depleting numbers of African Elephants in the wild.
