This piece is my first featuring the Double Barred Finch, a unique Australian bird found in the Hills of Perth Western Australia. I was blown away when I first spotted a family of the finches. In particular I love the black wings with little white spots. A unique and rare find, I had to give this beautiful bird a home in one of my artworks. This native plant is another unique beauty, it's leaves shaped like tiny lovehearts. It felt the perfect place for this sweet little finch to perch herself.
 
'Double Barred Finch' is signed on the right hand side of the canvas. The sides are painted as a wrap around, continuing on from the painting.
