'The Two of us' is the first artwork in the series Maternal. It celebrates the bond between mother and child. An unconditional love and an incomparable bond.
Orangutan mothers and their young share a very strong bond. Infants stay with their mothers for 6 or 7 years until they develop the skills necessary to go out on their own.
 
Sadly orangutans are on the endangered species list, mostly due to human activities such as deforestation and hunting.
